Dental Sedation

A lot of people experience anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. This type of fear may prevent them from getting the right dental care that they need. Luckily, there are now options that can help people manage this fear. And one of these is dental sedation. We are one of the dental practices in Medical Hat, Alberta that offers dental sedation. We aim to make sure that our clients are relaxed and worry-free when it comes to dental treatments, no matter how simple or complex these are.

If you have dental phobia or anxiety, and you're interested in dental sedation, we can help you with that! Give us a call today to inquire more information. We look forward to speaking with you.

What Are Your Options in Dental Sedation?

This is a great option for those who suffer from mild to severe cases of dental anxiety and phobia. Our dental team offers a number of dental sedation options that can help you achieve the dental care that you need in a much more relaxed and comfortable state. The options include the following:

Oral Conscious Sedation

This option entails taking a pill before your treatment. Don't worry, you will be given clear instructions to help you with this process. The pill may cause drowsiness, so it is best to have someone drive you to and from your dental appointment. Once you arrive at our practice, you will start to feel relaxed and our dentist will start with your dental treatment. In this option, you will be conscious and able to communicate during the entire procedure. You will feel completely relaxed and at ease that you should not be able to feel any discomfort. In fact, most of our patients noted that they do not even remember any pain during the procedure after everything is finished. We have an assigned staff that will monitor you throughout the entire treatment to make sure that everything is going smoothly and without any problems.

Nitrous Oxide

This is commonly known as the "laughing gas". This has been used in the dental field for many years now. You will breathe in the gas through your nose and you will feel relaxed and calmer in a matter of 30 seconds. Don't worry, this technique will not render you unconscious. However, you may drift off to a light sleep. There are no side effects to the laughing gas and its effect should wear off almost right after you stopped inhaling the gas.
